Molecular Toxicology Laboratory (MTL)
Charles Miller, PhD, is a molecular toxicologist that studies receptor-mediated toxicity caused by xenobiotic agents. His particular areas of interest include effects of dioxins and related compounds that activate toxic signaling pathways.
The roles of chaperone protein complexes (Hsp90s, p23) in regulating receptor-mediated toxicity are a focus of study. Genetically engineered yeast, mammalian cell line lines, and transgenic mice are used to explore toxic signaling mechanisms.
